Did You Know?
Motorcycles are highly prone to theft because they are easily accessible. Keep these theft prevention guidelines in mind to avoid a stolen bike.
PREVENT MOTORCYCLE THEFT
1. Shut off the ignition and lock your bike when you get off.
2. Lock your disk brakes. Use brightly colored locks to deter potential thieves.
3. Lock your motorcycle to a stationary object that cannot be dismantled.
4. Install an alarm that makes noise on your bike if tampered with.
5. Park your bike in front of security cameras, when possible, especially if staying at a hotel.
6. Store your motorcycle’s title at home, but keep your registration and insurance information with you when riding.
7. If selling your bike, withhold the title until you have conducted a background check on the potential buyer and his/her payment has cleared.
